CoomtechSMR Bulk Solids Drier
Low Energy Low Emissions Low Cost, non thermal drying bulk solids using a managed turbulent air stream to strip surface moisture from bulk solids particles in drying cartridge unit
drying bulk solid materials for construction, mining, minerals, raw materials for manufacturing and waste manag't
Coomtech SMR technology is a radical new low cost, green approach to the drying of a wide range of bulk raw materials used in industry, construction, manufacturing and minerals processing. It will dry granular and powder bulk solids non-thermally at as low as 25% of the cost of traditional thermal technologies with 75% reduction in energy required and of CO2 emissions. It uses a patented system of managed turbulent air to shear the moisture off the particle surfaces in a series of drying zones, maintaining the separation of particles and the water, mostly in aerosol form, to release the dried product to use or storage and the air +water stream to air or for condensation and treatment. The separation is maintained in the processing air at circa 85C at which temperature the optimum moisture carrying capacity holds the moisture removed without condensating back to the particles. However, in the circa 1 second for particles passing thorough the entire process that air temperature does not contribute to the drying process directly. The system is modular and can be configured to stand alone on remote sites or integrate with existing energy sources. The modular configuration is based on a shipping container frame design and modules are capable of circa 32,000 -40,000 wet tonnes per annum. This configuration allows for both easy expansion and roll out of a facility or multi product drying through the same facility. It is also quicker to obtain planning and can be a demountable plant. Coomtech remains open to inquiries for materials from all sectors and has experience in construction materials, industrial waste streams from steel and similar heavy industry, fuels, and some foodstuffs.
