Field of Expertise

I am an electronics and robotics engineer specialising in drone systems, embedded electronics, and autonomous sensing technologies. My expertise lies in developing intelligent, data-driven engineering solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability across industrial, logistics, and inspection applications. With a PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, I have a strong foundation in drone-based inspection, ultrasonic measurement, and 3D photogrammetric techniques. I bring extensive experience in system engineering, firmware and hardware integration, and wireless communication for advanced automation. My professional focus is on transforming cutting-edge research into commercially viable products that optimise real-world processes. I aim to apply this expertise to drive innovation in beverage logistics through the strategic use of drones for safer, faster, and more efficient operations.

Expertise

I have a strong background in the design and integration of drone systems, embedded electronics, and intelligent automation. My experience spans both academic research and industrial product development, allowing me to combine theoretical insight with hands-on engineering practice. During my PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, I explored drone-based inspection, ultrasonic measurement, and 3D photogrammetry for remote assessment and data capture. This research laid the groundwork for my continuing focus on drone technologies that improve operational safety and efficiency in complex environments.

Professionally, I have collaborated with organisations including Doosan Babcock, ODIN Space, Inspectahire, and Innovate UK, delivering projects that bridge robotics, sensing, and software. These have included drone inspection tools, spaceborne sensing systems, and non-invasive measurement technologies—each requiring a balance of system design, embedded programming, and data analysis. I have extensive experience in firmware development (C/C++/C#), PCB design, and communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy, I²C, and SPI, ensuring robust and scalable systems suitable for industrial use.

My goal is to bring this multidisciplinary expertise to the beverage logistics sector, applying drone and sensing technology to transform how operations are monitored, automated, and optimised. I am particularly interested in solutions that improve safety within warehouse and distribution environments, enable more sustainable logistics workflows, and leverage drones for intelligent asset tracking and environmental monitoring.
