The University of Arkansas Technology Ventures commercializes, protects, and manages the intellectual property portfolio of the University of Arkansas. Intellectual property can take on many different forms and be protected in many different ways so we also educate faculty, staff, and students as well as really the larger Northwest Arkansas community and entrepreneurial ecosystem about intellectual property and technology commercialization. We serve the university’s faculty, staff, and students as well as external inventors and entrepreneurs to disseminate knowledge, technology, and products to generate a return on investment that is reinvested into our innovators and future research support. In this way, we also serve the public as it is our responsibility to enable public utilization of products derived from university research. We manage a large portfolio of patent applications and issue patents that are available for licensing and we are the foundation for startup companies that utilize university intellectual property. We work closely with the office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation to help grow and support our entrepreneurial ecosystem. We also work closely with our Office of Innovation and Industry Partnerships as well as Office of Sponsored Programs on industry sponsored research that leads to the development of intellectual property with natural licensing partners.
