Background
We are a growth-focused consumer packaged goods (CPG) business and strategic bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company. We bottle and sell the beverages of The Coca-Cola Company exclusively in our 29 markets. We also partner with other beverage businesses such as Monster Energy, Edrington, Brown-Forman and Campari to sell their products. We create value for all our stakeholders by supporting the socio-economic development of the societies in which we operate and believe building a more positive environmental impact is integral to our future growth.
Challenge
Coca-Cola HBC is looking for automated solutions for handling of raw & packaging materials, including receipt from warehouse, staging and feeding to a production line. In our bottling plants we manage thousands of raw materials that come in multiple forms, shapes & weights and are stored in various locations within the plant, some of which are of controlled temperature. The materials are transferred to a staging area close to the production line, where they are checked to confirm they are suitable for use. Then they are transferred each to the appropriate machine and fed manually to it. This is a continuous process and the frequency of replenishment depends on the machine speed and the material packaging size. Throughout all the steps proper documentation is required for stock tracking and quality checks.
We are looking for a solution that will include all steps from receipt of the material from the storage area up to placement on the machine, aiming to:
- Reduce human labour / reduce human input
- Eliminate human errors
- Avoid lost time from inadequate replenishment
- Automate processes
- Movement recording for traceability purposes
An ideal solution will contain a combination of solutions to address the above. However, solutions that are open to collaboration should also apply.
