A.S. Watson Group (ASW), part of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited, is the largest international health and beauty retailer in Asia and Europe. With a history dating back to 1828, ASW has evolved into an international retail and manufacturing corporation with operations in 25 markets worldwide. Today, the Group operates over 16,000 retail stores covering health & beauty, luxury perfumeries & cosmetics, food, electronics and fine wine.
AS Watson operates in Europe across 15 markets, with 10 Business Units operating in Healthy & Beauty and Luxury Fragrance & Cosmetics Retail.
Starting with Superdrug (UK, IE) firstly is our ambition for this challenge.
Challenge
How can you support us on developing
- A database containing regularly updated and trusted data on healthcare & wellness products and regulatory backed information, aimed to be leveraging into FE solutions (Backend solution, MUST HAVE)?
- A digital advice tool, fed by a solid data on health & wellness products and regulated advice, to provide customers with consultation, diagnosis, advise, prescriptions, cures, and healthy lifestyle assistance (Frontend solution, NICE TO HAVE, considered as PLUS)? This solution could be used in-store, on their website, and via mobile.
The objective is to elevate the consideration phase for customers by providing timely, accurate, and personalized health information that empowers customers to make informed decisions about their health and wellness, whether the request comes from an immediate need, inspiration for a healthy lifestyle or expert advice from trusted sources & data points.
Digital advice tool should offer a holistic approach to customer well-being by providing access to consultation, diagnosis, tailored advice, prescriptions, cures, and ongoing lifestyle support. Additionally, we aim to drive conversions by seamlessly introducing relevant products during the assistance provided.
Desired tool should include following solutions:
· Consultation & Diagnosis: Enable users to receive initial consultations and diagnostic assistance based on their symptoms or health concerns, leveraging AI and medical databases.
· Personalised Advice & Prescriptions:
- Provide tailored advice and prescribe medications or treatments where appropriate, drawing from trusted medical guidelines, expert recommendations, up-to-date health research.
- Recommend to visiting a doctor when necessary.
· Lifestyle/Wellbeing Assistance: Offer actionable suggestions for healthy living, including vitamins, exercise, mental wellness, and preventive care, personalised to the user's preferences.
The above must be trusted & legally compliant knowledge/content with local health care regulation and legislation.
This matchmaking solution could be used in-store, on BU’s website, and/or BU’s Mobile Apps.
Proposals must comply with legal requirements.

Our ambition is to implement this technology at group level covering all potential countries in Europe and Asia. Hence, the technology must be conceived at group level and should be able to be customized by country BU level legal requirements

Confirmed partners will have the opportunity to pilot the service to 1 or multiple Business Units (depending on their interest in the technology), with the advantage of contracting with only 1 legal entity and have 1 invoice address for ALL ASW BUs involved.
This challenge is initially focused on Superdrug (UK & IE) and secondly Kruidvat (NL & BE).
