Summary

Background

With multiples years of experience in the development of innovative products, we are shaping the future of food. To help us, we are looking for innovative ingredients based on single cell organisms to develop nutritious and sustainable food and beverages in Latin America region.

Challenge

A major food and beverage manufacturer is seeking new and novel single-cell-based ingredients to develop nutritious and sustainable food and beverages.

Type of ingredients that are of interest:

  • Biomass or concentrate/extract
  • Source: yeast, fungi, bacteria, microalgae

Solution criteria:

  • Nutrition: ingredient being source of protein and/or unsaturated lipids and/or micronutrients and/or dietary fiber
  • Shelf-stable ingredient, ideally in powder form
  • Current production at least at pilot scale, ideally at industrial scale
  • GRAS or self-GRAS approved or high potential to get approved, with full safety documentation
  • Ingredient neutral/close to neutral in taste and color
  • Cost competitive (e.g. for single cell protein ingredients cost < 10 USD/kg protein)
  • Freedom to operate
  • Company based in LATAM

Solutions that do not match all of the above criteria are still encouraged to apply.
