This Challenge has been submitted by a global Fortune 500 Commercial Real Estate Services and Facilities Management company which serves clients in over 100 countries.
Our Client has an asset management platform and BMS integration capabilities, but condition surveys by RICS surveyors are time-consuming and expensive. Our client is looking for automated asset condition and collection products.
Challenge
In the real estate industry, accurately collecting and maintaining building asset data is crucial for effective property management, maintenance, and decision-making. Traditional methods of manual data collection can be time-consuming, error-prone, and expensive. Therefore, the challenge is to create an AI and machine learning solution that can automate the process of identifying and collecting building asset data, enabling companies to streamline operations and make data-driven decisions.
Key Requirements:
Data Collection Automation: Develop sophisticated algorithms and models that can automatically collect and organize data on building systems and equipment (ex: boilers, HVAC, electrical, BMS, BAS, pumps, etc.) This includes capturing information such as make, model, serial number, condition, age, and energy consumption.
Accuracy and Reliability: Ensure the AI solution can accurately identify and categorize various building assets, minimizing errors and inconsistencies in data collection.
Scalability: Design a solution that can handle global-scale data collection across multiple markets, properties, enabling real estate companies to efficiently manage their portfolios.
Adaptability: Create algorithms that can adapt to different types of buildings, architectural styles, and asset configurations.
Applications may fall into but not be limited to the following categories:
- Robotics/drone tech
- Computer Vision
- Natural Language Processing (NLP/OCR)
- LiDAR
- Point NeRF
Other categories are not listed but are of interested. Our client is particularly interested in solutions that are ready for implementation.

- Building Management System data extraction/normalisation

- Models that need further training on identification of assets
The Client already has access to an asset management data system, they are looking for automated condition surveys, e.g. age, make, model, condition, etc.
