saving millions of small crop farms dying from drought
Climate change and drought are causing millions of small crop farms, in many countries, to fail because short of 20%, 30%, 50% water.
Consequences are and will be severe:
-Rural exodus to cities and then possibly to other countries;
-Poverty;
-Reduction of food production;
-Increase in prices;
Surface and ground water further depletion…
However, most of the millions of small crop farms can be saved, if not expanded, thanks to our “Precision Atmospheric Irrigation Solution” (PAIS).
The PAIS solution integrates 6 key components/ steps:
-Solar powered panels transforming Air (humidity) into Water, thanks to the Sun (panels also offer shade to plants – limiting evapotranspiration);
-An AI powered software which defines, depending on the plant, soil, climate, etc., the length of the plant’s roots and consequently the depth of the micro piping that will deliver water under the plant’s roots;
-A simple drop by drop piping system bringing water under the plant’s root (eliminating also evaporation since water is not brought anymore on the surface of the soil);
-A bio-polymer added to the plant’s seed, which will retain the water brought by the panel and its micro piping system;
-An integrated local precision meteorology, sending weather data to the AI Software (which will tell how much water the plant should be given every day):
-Humidity censors placed under the root of a sample plant, sending critical data to the AI software, which can then learn and adapt its drip watering efficiency, literally by the “drop”.
As a result, all things being equal, for most of the plants usually grown by small crop farms, the PAIS solution will save from 60% to 80% of water needs.
Consequently, farms that are missing 20%, 40%, 60% …. can survive or expand with the PAIS solution, avoiding all or part of the severe consequences resulting from drought.
