I have always looked for patterns in events. Most events are correlated, this has been a theory of mine in my college days. I took this approach in the fields that I worked with in the past: Sales, Marketing, Finance and now it's all converging towards Enterprise Software. In my startup, I have leveraged my expertise in this subject matter to help us build models that would help determine patterns through correlation. In the market today, businesses take decisions based on data. But that alone is not enough, we need to know what the future is going to bring. Machine Learning is great at identifying patterns; I love how we can predict future outcomes. Recently, we came across a business use case that involved Buy-Now-Pay-Later or BNPL. Say you're in the retail industry and you want to implement this service on the procurement side to allow flexibility to your hundreds of suppliers.
