Airborne pathogens
As the co-founder and CEO of KiposTech, I am on a mission to make buildings a haven for human and animal occupants by ending preventable disease transmissions caused by airborne pathogens often riding on particles. My journey in this field began with a deep fascination for the intricate and diverse morphological features of airborne bacteria and fungi, particularly fungi. This fascination grew as I developed a special bond with microscopes during my PhD research, spending countless hours observing these tiny organisms. The paradox of their beauty and danger intrigued me: how could something so magnificent also pose a threat? This reflection on the nature of existence, where beauty and peril coexist, has fueled my passion for creating safer environments. With over nine years of experience in biotechnology & environmental engineering, I have developed novel solutions for detecting and disinfecting infectious biological agents in various matrices, such as air, water, and wastewater.
My scientific background and entrepreneurial mindset have enabled me to create patent pending inventions in bioaerosol monitoring and that leverage advanced non-thermal plasma technologies to eliminate pathogens in niche environments. I have also applied my skills in scientific writing and communication to secure funding and partnerships for my ventures, as well as to disseminate my research findings through publications and presentations. Additionally, I am passionate about giving back to the community by volunteering for causes that matter to me, such as childhood cancer, and by engaging and inspiring young students to pursue STEM careers.
