Dr. Tom O'Haire has a PhD in Textile Science and has worked in design and innovation roles in apparel, footwear and interior textiles. He has significant expertise in the development of novel technologies to enable product and creative design. He has worked on new fibres at Adidas and Polestar Cars and has experience in commercialising novel materials. On the protein chemistry side, he previously developed a recombinant protein yarn in partnership with AMSilk and understands this space. Directly relevant to this project, Tom also has experience in wool industry in the UK, working within mills and dyehouses on products utilising hemp, nettle and flax alongside British wool.
