Wendi Zimmer is an expert in Teaching and Learning. She uses her extensive knowledge of teaching and learning techniques to assist industry leaders in increasing employee retention by strengthening employee self-efficacy, motivation, and buy-in. Employees are more fulfilled when they feel confident in the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for their job. Wendi Kamman Zimmer, Ph.D., is a teaching and learning consultant and Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. Her doctoral degree is in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in literacy education. Wendi partners with industry leaders to focus on enhancing teaching and learning practices within organizations to increase employee fulfillment, managing conflict, and writing support. This work includes curriculum redesign efforts, teaching and learning-based professional development programming delivery, and graduate-level writing studios to develop strong writing habits and increase writing and publishing productivity. Her research agenda is trifold, focusing on workplace retention and motivation, teaching and learning enhancement, and undergraduate and graduate writing development. Additionally, Wendi's work provides a unique opportunity to reflect on students' learning, specifically the correlation between using communication methods to guide thinking and the implications on leading and learning. Wendi currently teaches literacy and communication skills to undergraduate students in the Division of Sport Management within the School of Education's Kinesiology & Sport Management department. Before teaching in the higher education arena, Wendi was a teacher and administrator in the K-12 environment for 13 years.
