Each can will have an indent on the base and then a corresponding indent on the top. As one can is placed on top of the other, the indent will slot in perfectly to the cavity provided. The top can is then rotated as the base can is held in position to create a twisting motion. As the cans twist against one another the base can is weakened at it's weakest point (the first ridge at the top). This is the thinnest point of the can and so tears away
Key Benefits
The 'pop and tear' of a standard can is difficult for many consumers. It requires significant fine motor skills to lift the significant strength to undertake. In the 'Tower' concept, the consumer is using gross motor skills to move the can (these decline less in older adults) and the large can diameter should facilitate enough torque to start the tear process.
