We have a centralised website that stores the work and allows you to find staff in local area with correct skill set. Job is accepted using a phone app and the travel, work times, breaks and other job info is stored in the app. Even allows risk assessments to be done on the phone. At the end of the job the customer signs the timesheet on the phone. This means accounts staff have info immediately the job is completed so can invoice quicker improving cash flow. This also allows them to track where staff are as the app uploads status of job assuming there is internet connectivity on site. The app does store the data for upload later of there is no mobile broadband or wifi available. At the moment it work on Android, but currently working on iPhone version. Also looking at creating a branded and locked Android phone that will have just the app and a set of phone numbers approved by the client so clients in industries like the care sector do not have to worry about low paid staff abusing the phone for personal reasons.
