Prompt collates shared histories and pictures about people and places mentioned in events and links them to reminders, to increase social confidence and maintain independence.
About
Prompt is a personal memory assistant that brings you context about the people and places mentioned in your calendar. It links pictures and useful background information to reminders, so you can instantly see how you know someone, when you last met, what you talk about or who you know in common. Prompt can also show you useful notes about places, such as where you normally park, which floor to go to or whether they serve good coffee! At the end of each week, the service brings you a summary of your week to help embed the memories. The app is aimed at the 1.6bn tech savvy baby boomers who are now at higher risk of memory problems, caused by conditions such as early dementia, depression or recovery from chemotherapy. It is designed to boost social confidence and maintain independence to delay or defer the need for care. The system learns from patterns of behavior and will predict what information and reminders are needed and when. Families can help manage the service and, with the user's permission, can see what he or she has planned and where they are. Analytics will send alerts if change is noted. The service has been designed with input from people living with dementia and brain injury, their families and clinical staff. Memrica has been nominated for an Aspirin Social Innovation award by Bayer, was shortlisted for an AXA PPP Health Tech and You Age award, a Nesta/AAL Active Aging award and has been showcased at London's Design Museum.
