About
Synthetic agro-chemicals have been widely used historically and the impacts on productivity have been huge. Nonetheless, recent (and less recent) studies have demonstrated how the massive use of those compounds pose some serious harms to the environment, farms, farm operators and the consumers. Zayndu’s technology is completely eco-friendly. Instead of using chemical reagents we utilize a small amount of electricity to generate plasma in the proximity of the seeds. The resulting effect is pathogen inactivation as well as a growth stimulation and yield increase.
Key Benefits
Zayndu’s plasmas are tailored to different species, creating tightly controlled environments with cocktails of reactive species that inactivate bacteria, fungi and viruses while triggering beneficial seed responses. After all, many of the reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONs) generated by Zayndu’s plasma technology are the very same species nature uses to regulate biochemical pathways in seeds. In the agriculture industry the most important metric to determine ultimate success of a crop is yield. We are reporting here examples of our internal efforts to ascertain if Zayndu’s plasma treatment would be beneficials in terms of yield increase. As our published data show, we have been able to increase yields for our customers in the range of +10% to +27%.
Applications
Zayndu's plasma seed treatment can provide a number of benefits: seed priming, germination synchronization, increased growth rate and ultimately increased yield. The treatment have been applied successfully to more than 90 cultivars, spanning 39 different plant species: microgreens, vegetables, leafy greens, ornamental flowers, vegetables, and even trees.
