About
Green Bioactives specialises in the development and manufacturing of natural ingredients, employing their patented Plant Cell Culture Technology. This proprietary technology enables the extraction of target plant primary vascular stem cells from leaf materials within whole plants known for producing specific natural products. These dissected cells undergo growth on solid media, supplemented with the necessary nutrients to stimulate proliferation independent of their host plant. Subsequently, the proliferated cells are transferred and cultured in liquid media, facilitating further proliferation and scalable production.
A distinguishing feature of Green Bioactives' approach is the resilience of vascular stem cells (VSCs) to mechanical shear stresses in liquid culture, such as shaking and stirring. This resilience contrasts with dedifferentiated cells, which may be adversely affected by these stresses, potentially compromising oxygen and nutrient circulation and, consequently, hindering cell growth and yield. Notably, VSCs, characterized by multiple, very small vacuoles, exhibit minimal cryopreservation effects, allowing for effective storage at low temperatures. This innovation enhances the efficiency and reliability of Green Bioactives' processes in producing natural ingredients.
