Small Robot Co is reimagining farming with robotics and AI, making it more financially and environmentally sustainable. We help farmers to understand and optimise care for every plant in every field. By providing field-scale actionable insights at a plant level we can optimise farm technology to reduce chemicals and waste.
Key Benefits
Farm technology is inherently wasteful. Farmers have had to apply chemicals to the whole field, accumulating in the soil, running off into waterways and affecting biodiversity. Farmers need an alternative to operational decisions which are lower cost but which may impact the environment. We believe that the answer lies in understanding and optimising care for every plant in every field. Our Per Plant Farming innovation provides a working alternative. By geolocating every crop plant or weed we can provide field-scale actionable insights at a plant level. Data is collected by our Tom robot and insights are generated by our AI. Farmers then access treatment maps that integrate with existing farm machinery for targeted variable rate fertiliser applications and to spot-apply herbicides through nozzle control and sectional control sprays. This Per Plant view can stop “just in case” chemical applications. It can give farmers the confidence to apply inputs exactly where they are required, or not to spray at all. We can even inform farmers exactly how much chemical is needed before they set off - a chemical saving not possible with reactive solutions.
