3-Sci creates sensors to discriminate Oil:Water:Solid ratios and compositions. Profile-EM typifies the approach - designed to replace nucleonic profiling in separator vessels.
About
3-Sci is a SME creating innovations in sensing and sensing systems for 'harsh' environments. We develop, certify, manufacture and sell globally, advanced sensing and control systems. Our novel sensors often comprise latest developments in such as ultrasonic and electromagnetic sensors. We provide all hardware and software and data analyses with our sensors and sensing systems. We are ISO9001 accredited and our products receive the relevant certifications (eg IECEx) where required.
Key Benefits
We use carefully-selected electromagnetic waves - transmitted over short, medium or long range through structures, fluids and solids for the purposes of interrogating structural, material and compositional features. For example, our recently-introduced Wi-Corr CUI solution monitors continuously for regions that may be at risk of Corrosion Under Insulation. Our xtrEMsense solutions provide sensor in environments (high radiation, extreme temperatures) that cannot be tolerated by other sensors.
In particular, we have created recently, electromagnetic sensors that can discriminate gas:oil:water:solid presence and compositions (eg emulsion composition). The initial aim has been to provide an alternative to the use of nucleonic technology for measurements in such as oilfield separators. This alternative has been named 'Profile-EM'. However, the sensing approach that constitutes Profile-EM can be used in many environments where and intermittent of continuous measurement of gas:oil:water:solid composition is required.
Applications
In the context of this submission, we 'target' the requirement for a new approach to discriminating and quantifying, gas:oil:water:solids presence and compositions in the processing industries.
