Catalytic mesh in a heterogeneous Advanced Oxidation Process in a rotating disc reactor assisted by UVc light and/or microwaves. Mesh does not block and can be easily scaled up.

About

A multipurpose fibrous mesh for wastewater treatment that is incorporated in a rotating disc reactor that can be assisted by UV and or microwaves. The mesh is made at industrial scale and can remove metals, phosphate, arsenate etc. where it is a proven technology at pilot scale. It also degrades persistent pollutants enabling water re-use or discharge to the environment again proven at pilot scale in the field. The mesh has been used to activate hydrogen peroxide and is proven to enhance disinfection by a more extensive biocidal action.

Key Benefits

ØThe catalytic mesh is not blocked by suspended solids,

Øhas good flow through properties and excellent mixing

Ø can be regenerated in-situ

Ødesign is based on the existing rotating biological contactor

Øscalable and can be used in applications from small domestic to large industrial scale

ØCan be positioned as a pre- or post treatment in existing treatment systems

ØEasy in-situ regeneration of catalyst and replacement

ØCan be combined with UV and /or microwaves

ØCan treat very turbid wastewaters whereas traditional UV/H2O2 treatments can only treat clear wastewaters

Applications

Markets are municipal water authorities, any industry producing a wastewater, mobile decontamination unit, soil remediation, acid mine drainage
