Revolutionary Concepts develops improved solutions to existing problems in the mechanical engineering space. In this case, we have developed a heat exchanger which has lower manufacturing costs and improved maintenance. It can be used in a variety of settings which are useful to CBRE - including tap water heat exchangers, heat network interfaces and CHP heat energy recovery systems.

We have partnered with an existing manufacturer to deliver our products to market.

Key Benefits

Weight Reduction – The novel sheet metal construction removes the need for thick end plates associated with gasket plate heat exchangers, leading to a 60% weight reduction. This reduces costs, emissions and greatly simplifies installation and maintenance in tap water heat exchangers and CHP heat recovery applications.

Lower Maintenance – The flat plate construction and simple plate bundle withdrawal makes inspection and cleaning simpler and more cost effective.

Press-Brake Manufacturing – Unlike current designs, the plates in this exchanger are formed entirely using press brakes, eliminating complex machinery and tooling from the manufacturing processes. This reduces energy usage, material waste and manufacturing time.

Applications

Tap water heat exchangers of high power ratings - currently only gasket or shell and tube heat exchangers can be used for high power ratings.

District heating and heat network interfaces - separating the supply and return boiler water from end users in buildings.

CHP - thermal energy recovery systems
