Tattva was founded in 2024 by Prantar Tamuli, whose PhD research laid the scientific foundation for the technology, and was incubated through ConceptionX, with early investment from G-Force. The company’s pilot production plant is located at Elston Farm in Devon—a state-of-the-art regenerative modern farm led by co-founder Andy Gray, which operates on renewable energy sources including solar, wind, and recycled industrial heat. Tattva has already demonstrated scalability beyond the lab, producing multiple architectural panels of Stromate that were recently exhibited at the Bioscope Pavilion in St Andrews Botanic Garden, Scotland. The other co-founder is Dr Steven Roberts ex Barclays and founder of Barclays Eagle Labs and Barclays Digital Eagles.

We bring a range of skills and experience to apply to this new material and the multiple potential applications to create low carbon, grown alternatives to existing fossil fuel derived and mined alternatives.

Key Benefits

Very low carbon alternative to many material applications, and which permanently sequesters CO2 as part of its growth process - which takes place over 10 days. Continues to sequester CO2 after this in a dormant state . Grown material has high strength, fire resistance, excellent sound and thermal insulation as well as a very attractive blue/green translucency. Can be grown at scale locally to where it is needed. A by-product of the material growing process is to create potential high quality carbon credits which could be used to offset against existing manufacturing.

 

Applications

Our first applications of the material have been in the building sector, mainly because of where the original research originated, as well as its natural attractiveness and properties. However, it has wider applications across a range of sectors where its unique combination of properties and outputs can be useful - Oxygen producing, CO2 sequestering etc.
