Molon Labe Seating is a Denver-based aircraft seating company. Starting off on economy class short range products (S3 “Side-Slip Seat”), we have taken the ergonomic advantages of the S3 and translated that into an extremely comfortable economy class seat like no other, the S2 “Stagger Seat”. The design was done by BMW DesignWorks. By offsetting the middle seat vertically and for/aft the Stagger Seat offers more living space to all occupants. The arms, thighs and elbows of all passengers are no longer adjacent. Visually It is a small offset, but ergonomically it makes a huge difference in passenger comfort. The middle-seat is also 3 inches wider whilst the other seats maintain their standard width. In addition to the staggered design we added delineated, sculpted armrests and a unique one-sided headrest to even further enhance the ergonomic offering. We also took the advantage of the wider middle seat and added an immersive 18” monitor, the widest IFE screen available in economy class. The outer seats also benefit from a 16” monitor (significantly larger than the currently record-setting 13.3” IFE in economy). The end result; more space, the largest seats in long-haul economy, the largest IFE in any economy seat and no more elbow wars! – Without reducing pax count on the aircraft or having to change the seating layout. As we can use the unique staggered design to create wider seats on the same layout, this can also be used to generate a high density layout while still offering a very acceptable level of comfort and seat width to all passengers. This feature makes it possible to generate e.g. these configurations: 9 abreast B787 (with a decent seat width & comfort) 11 abreast A380 9 abreast A330 10 abreast A350 The seat is designed for all wide-body aircraft.
