A mobile compact-robotic RO system for water treatment combined with large water storage, operates on solar energy, installed on a truck/tailer.
About
Contaminated water is a pressing global issue, predominantly affecting undeveloped countries. Drinking impure water can lead to waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid. The World Health Organization estimates that 829,000 people die each year from consuming unsafe water. Polluted water sources are further exacerbated by industrial runoff and agricultural chemicals. Children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of drinking contaminated water; its impact can be on physical and cognitive development, high mortality rates and chronic illness. In developing countries, as much as 80% of illnesses are linked to poor water and sanitation conditions. Women and girls are responsible for water collection in seven out of ten households in 45 developing countries. According to the United Nations, more than 2 billion people worldwide live in countries experiencing high water stress, and about 4 billion people face severe water scarcity for at least one month a year. As per the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), about 785 million people don't have access to basic drinking water services. This implies that 1 in 9 people worldwide do not have clean water close to home.A cost-effective solution to treat polluted water can significantly alleviate the global water scarcity problem, especially in regions where financial resources are limited. It can address increased access to clean water, reduction of waterborne diseases, increase education opportunities, etc.People in developing countries face difficulties in affording water equipment due to combination of socio-economic, infrastructural, and political factors like know income, prioritization of basic needs, lack of access to financing to mention a few. To solve those issue EZPack® is adopting the concept of Pay-As-You-Use. The concept of "Pay-As-You-Use" for water provision is an innovative approach that has both merits and considerations. It involves users paying for water based on their actual consumption, rather than a flat fee or through indirect means such as taxes. To answer the above challenges, EZPack® is introducing a mobile compact-robotic RO (reverse osmosis) system for water treatment combined with large water storage, operates on solar energy, installed on a truck/tailer. The system also incorporates an IoT system to support Pay-As-You-Use payment system.
Key Benefits
EZPack® solutions main impact is the availability of clean water in areas that suffer from water scarcity. It aims to areas where water sources are contaminated and are not appropriate for drinking or irrigation. We provide compact-mobile solutions combined with water storage, working on solar power, and include Pay-As-You-Use IoT system. People with very low incomes (less than $5 per day), cannot afford to invest in water equipment. Implement Pay-As-You-Use model the user will pay for the water he uses (can start as low as $1 per day). Over time, their income will increase, and they will be able to use more water. Our compact-robotic RO systems have 2 models: 500 liter/hour and 2,000 liter/hour. The 500 liter/hour can produce on average 3,500 liters per day (assuming 7 hours of sun per day), which can support the drinking water needs of about 300 people per day. The 2,000 liter/hour can produce on average 14,000 liters per day (assuming 7 hours of sun per day), which can support the drinking water needs of about 1,400 people per day. Multi systems configuration is available to support any water volume needed. The average price of a liter (on a Pay-As-You-use model) is less than $0.01 per liter.
Applications
EZPack® addresses the availability of clean water in areas that suffer from water scarcity and lack of electricity grid. EZPack® provides unique proprietary off-grid clean water solution to treat contaminated water sources, based on our EZPuro™ - a robotic-compact reverse-osmosis (RO) water purification system. The EZPuro™ is smallest and lightest system in the category; it is fully automated so does not need any technical skills to operate; it requires 1 KWH and can operate on 3 solar panels. It can provide 3-12 cubic meters of water per day. The EZPuro™ is combined with our proprietary water storage bladders technology. We can also integrate Pay-As-You-Use method into the EZPuro™, which enable the users to pay for the water they use via Almost half of humanity, mostly in Asia and Africa, still live in rural areas and are of low-income groups. The poor rural population lack access to basic water supply (900 million) and safe sanitation, which result not only in tremendous human health and economic costs but also create gender and other societal inequalities The majority of rural population in the developing world are illiterate, unskilled and is composed of mainly elderly people, women and children, who do not have resources to support/cope with natural variability and its impacts.Today 770 million people live without access to electricity, mostly in Africa and Asia. Sub-Saharan Africa’s share of the global population without access to electricity rose is 77%. In LDC (Less Developed Countries) 75% of the population lack access to electricity. EZPack® focuses on providing cost-effective off-grid clean water solutions. We mainly focus on rural areas. To be able to provide solutions also for low and very-low income population, we incorporate in our solution IoT that supports Pay-As-You-Use model.
