About
Security systems are increasingly using microwave imaging to identify objects that may be a security risk. This is because microwaves involve non-ionizing radiation and therefore unlike X-rays pose no health risks to people that are subject to short-term exposure at moderate levels. Known systems are quite cumbersome as they use relatively large apparatus. This invention provides an adaptable security system where RFID tags are positioned around an area and generate directed RF signals. Image data from the received signals is used to reconstruct a corresponding image that can be used to obtain security data. The system is adaptable and also invisible, which avoids a potential suspect from being aware that they are being security checked and so reduces the risks of them trying to evade security. Patent Application is pending.
