Marine Robotics: Saving cost, reducing risk, increasing flexibility

About

Autonomy and robotics are the future. Marine autonomy is one of the fastest areas of technological development in the UK right now. In 2014 it was announced that the UK government was making £9 million available to support the future of Maritime Autonomous Systems. ASV designs, builds and operates Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs) as well as developing its own control system for its fleet of Unmanned and Autonomous systems that currently operate in the military and defence, science and survey and oil and gas industries both in the UK and overseas. ASVs come in all shapes and sizes from 2m station keeping buoys for oil and gas tasks for 12m mine sweeping vehicles for the military. ASVs have the potential to save time, save money and ultimately save lives.
