LASU is a point-to-point laser photostimulation/uncaging solution for uncaging, activation and deactivation of light sensitive compounds.

About

Developed with VU University Amsterdam, the LASU (Laser Applied Stimulation and Uncaging) system is ideal for researchers engaging in optogenetics, uncaging or other photostimulation experiments. Accurate and repeatable The laser spot positioning is accurate and repeatable enabling fast experimental manipulation of biological systems. Award-winning technology The Galvo mirror driven hardware and optical components are based on the Scientifica award-winning two-photon system giving you complete confidence when choosing LASU Simple Integration The LASU system fits directly onto the Scientifica upright SliceScope microscope making it an easy upgrade to existing rigs. Free space launched or fibre guided laser delivery The choice either fibre or free-space launch optics means that you can choose which laser delivery method best suits your experimental setup. Choice of laser wavelengths LASU is able to deliver multiple laser wavelengths with a spot smaller than 2 microns (depending on the objective used). This provides greater experimental control than 'full field' stimulation. Powerful software LASU is controlled entirely through its own software which includes a wide range of easy to use functions allowing for instant 'out of the box' use. The software displays a live feed from the camera and comes pre-installed on the PC supplied with the system. This means spot positioning, laser power and pulse frequency can all be manipulated through the clear graphical interface.
