The problem:
To provide accessability and inclusivity to all passengers within an airport environment, positioning technology is needed to guide them. This technology needs to cater for all levels of users, for exmaple those with vision imparements.
Our solution:
Advanced Navigation's Hyperlocal Navigaiton Systems provides localisation data with an accuracy 10-30cm of customers, Points of Interest, and obstacles within an indoor enviroment. The technology seemlesly works with modern consumer smart devices to enable the positioning information to be used across multiple services and applications.
Key Benefits
- Easy to integrate into existing technology - our system can easliy integrate into existing applications such as the London Heathrow Airport App or even Google Maps. This is done using standard positioning services within modern smart devices.
- Easy to install - the system can easily be installed using standard data cabling and interfacing to existing networks through out the airport
- Accuracy - GPS does not work indoors and bluetooth and wifi technolgies suffer from poor accuracy indoors. Our UWB technology provides accurate and reliable positions that allow precise guidance to features of interest and high safety.
Applications
- Guidance for vision impared people to target areas - the system can be used to give turn-by-turn guidance to vision impared users, using voice cues, to help them get to gates, information desks or other facilities within the airport.
- Effective use and tracking of assistance services - our technology can be used to track assets and staff employeed by the airport to match demand and supply effectively. Note that the system doesn't allow the tracking and monitoring of passengers and their data. The technology could for example guide staff in an emergency to passenger who has sent an emergency request.
