The handle of the tap is almost never washed by the user in 90 % of the situations in common places. If so, the virus or the dirt will stick back to the hands while closing the tap. The left over virus or dirt will also be carried by the next user. So, we have provided the handle within the water flow from the mouth of the tap. When opened, the water flows over the handle to reach your hands. Thus, clean hands and clean tap is 100 % assured. This sensible tap is different from the taps which one would have seen so far. The tap is reversed; the handle is below the water spout. There is a scientific reason for that. Imagine, whenever we wash our hands we open the tap by the handle, wash our hands and go off. If there is dirt or infection, it is transferred to the handle of the tap .This in turn will be transferred to the hand of the next user thereby promoting transmission of infection from one person to another while washing hands . Also the handle which got contaminated before handwash while opening the tap recontaminates the users hand after the handwash when the person closes the tap. After the wash when the person tries to close the tap, he touches the handle again recontaminating his hand. This leaves the dirt or the virus in the handle only to be given to the next user of the tap. Only by washing the handle of the tap along with our hands this transmission of infection could be stopped. But in our observation, 90% of the population does not wash the handle of the tap especially in public places. Instead of trying to teach the society how to wash hands and how to wash the handle of the tap, we have come up with this idea of tap reversal. Here, the handle is provided at the mouth of the tap from where the water flows. The handle also gets washed along with our hands. Though sensor technology is in the world for more than two decades, it is practically not possible to be implemented in all places. This simple modification in the tap model is sensible, economical, user-friendly and affordable ensuring 100% clean hands thereby breaking the transmission chain.
