We enable additive printing of complex electrical circuitry on bio-based polymer films, on which electrical components can be integrated using low temperature, green processes
About
Printed Electronics refers to additive "printing" of electrical circuitry. Our innovation enables large-area, large-scale printing of simple as well as complex electrical circuitry on flexible bio-based polymer films. Furthermore, our innovation enables assembly of multi-mix electronic components using low-temperature processes that consume a lot less energy than the traditional soldering processes. We refer to this innovation as "Hybrid Printed Electronics". It enables manufacturing of electronic systems and PCBs with a low carbon footprint, besides enhancing the recyclability. Besides PCBs, our innovation also enables additive manufacturing of sensors for monitoring temperature, vital signs, pressure, touch, posture, etc. We are continuing our innovation to lead the way towards "green electronics" and "circularity".
Key Benefits
Key benefits of our innovation are: - Flexible, stretchable, large-area PCBs and sensors enabling new designs and form factors - Additive manufacturing of electronics, leading to a reduced carbon footprint - No chemical etching - No need for energy-intensive reflow soldering - Enables truly "roll-to-roll" or "reel-to-reel" manufacturing of electronics at a high throughput
Applications
- Wearable sensors and devices - Smart clothing - Consumer electronic devices - Lighting - Display and signages - Large-area sensors
