Applications
Integration A core strength at viewEazy is our ability to seamlessly integrate with third-party systems. We accomplish this in a variety of ways including file transfer, DLL/COM integration, direct database access, web sockets, SOAP and REST APIs (application programming interfaces). The type of integration depends on the nature of information we want to obtain from a donor system, the update frequency of the data and the volume of data. When we integrate with a third-party system, our engineers judge whether the data should be streamed in real-time directly to any dashboards/reports or stored in our databases. At this point, the data may undergo transformation or aggregation so that we are retrieving and storing the minimum necessary in line with the required specification. While our engineers are familiar with a vast number of third-party systems, our ability to quickly grasp the concept, schema and structure of new systems allows us to start building useful, actionable information from that raw data very quickly. Dashboards Once we have obtained the required raw data from all donor systems, our engineers then go about aligning information from the various systems. This alignment might take place by many metrics but most often information is aligned by date/time and perhaps location/site. Once the information is aligned, we then combine the information into a single source of truth; this abstracted layer is critically important to ensuring data integrity displayed on dashboards/reports and it lends the system a huge degree of flexibility. The information is back-filled as required and made available to the front-end of the application where our designers and engineers will select the most appropriate chart type from a vast library. A key point here is that unlike many other systems, we're not bound to a specific library; rather, the system can mix and match chart types from multiple libraries to ensure the information can be rendered to specification. Dashboards are generally built from a combination of tables, tips, text, geomaps, heatmaps and any number of charts including; pie, doughnut, radar, polar, candlestick, histogram, sunburst, line, bar, bubble, scatter, area and tree maps. The chart type choice will always reflect the shape of the underlying information which in turn is driven by the metrics on which we need to report.
