An innovated microalgae-based natural supplement has demonstrated its effectiveness in promoting gut-health and growth of animals, including mice, chicken, winning pigs and trout.

About

Gut inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) are costly and serious diseases in childhood development. New natural microalgae-based supplement that promote gut health and control IBDs has been produced. The products, AggieFeed and AggieGrow can be manufactured in large quantity using all natural ingredients, and show no cytotoxicity or adverse health effects in cell-based and animal studies.. Preliminary results with mice demonstrate the cytoprotective effects of AggieFeed-supplemented animal feed for alleviating IBD. Addition of AggieFeed in regular feed reduces the levels of inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α, and pro-inflammatory cytokine IFN-alpha while exerts no immunogenic response. More evidence has shown that AggieFeed supplementation promotes the growth of chicken, piglets and trout, and improves gut health and gut microbiome profile without antibiotic addition. Key Benefits

The products can be classified as natural and organic, and is sustainable. The efficacy has been demonstrated in various animals. In animal experiments, the products can reverse osteoporosis. If mass production is commenced, it can help to reduce the level of CO2 and excess inorganic phosphorus and nitrogen salts leached from fertilizers used in agriculture.
