Gusoku-Tec apparel delivers next-gen cut and puncture resistance with Dyneema®—lightweight, breathable, washable, and designed to replace heavy alternatives.

About

Established in 1969, Lynn River has been a market leader in the hand protection and PPE space in food processing for a number of decades now. Largely built on developing and providing Dyneema Cut Resistant Gloves to the meat processing industry, they have now expanded into innovating a new cut resistant garment to protect workers from accidental cuts and light stabs on the body.

Gusoku-Tec (Goo-So-Koo-Tek) is not just a brand; it’s a revolution in protective wear. Drawing inspiration from the ‘Gusoku’ armor worn by samurai, our mission is to provide workers with an ample level of protection without compromising on comfort or mobility.

The term ‘Gusoku’ refers to the modern revolutionary protective armor worn by samurai warriors in ancient Japan. Lightweight yet incredibly strong, ‘Gusoku’ used new materials such as silk and offered warriors a unique advantage in battle by offering a lightweight alternative to traditional materials which provided enhanced maneuverability and comfort.

With our Gusoku-Tec range, we honor this legacy by creating protective wear that mirrors the strength and agility of the samurai armor. Yarns have since developed further since the introduction of silk, with Dyneema fiber being a modern marvel offering a high strength, yet lightweight fabric providing excellent cut and puncture resistance.

  • Lightweight alternative with the singlet weighing 280g on average and 300g for the shorts, whereas chainmesh can be in excess of 2kg.

Applications

Designed for use in the meat and food processing markets.

There have been instances of workers experiencing cuts and light stabs on the front of body, in which the worst cases have resulted in fatalities (where they haven't been wearing chainmesh).

There has been complaints raised from workers that prefer not to wear chainmesh as it is too heavy and droops down and gets in the way when bending down.

Gusoku-Tec strikes a happy medium between offering cut and puncture protection while being lightweight and doesn't impede on dexterity.
