The invention is genetically encodable that large fluorescence changes upon phosphorylation. It is applicable to different kinases and phosphates.
About
Technology Description: The invention is a novel means for the fluorescent detection of tyrosine activity. A phosphotyrosine is used to mimic a glutamic acid residue, unlike previous methods, this approach combines a genetic encodability with the exhibition of large fluorescence changes upon phosphorylation. Moreover, this approach is applicable to different kinases and phosphates through modification of the recognition sequence. Patent Status: The technology is patented with fully preserved U.S. patent rights available for licensing opportunities. U.S. Issued Patent (No. 8,551,723)
