Using the Formula 1 model: First, during order picking, employees are for example divided into the teams Ferrari and McLaren. Multiple locations can take part in the game. Each of the Formula 1 teams is assigned its own avatar. Next, the racing season is planned out. That means, the dates and times for the qualifying and the races are determined. To ensure comparability between teams, a productivity target is determined for each team before the season begins. During the qualifying, the starting order for each race is set so the individual performance can be tested. A countdown is used to display the start of the race. Participants can follow the progress of the race via a live ticker scoring system. After the race is completed, the rankings are determined and the top 3 winners are announced. Using the gamification approach, the focus is not on financial rewards, so the winning team might, for instance, receive tickets to a Formula 1 race.
