We have invented a platform technology to make recyclable composites that are creep- and fire-resistant and have properties similar to fiber-reinforced resins but cost half as much

About

RRTC is a licensing and manufacturing company with a platform process for making new classes of composite materials. Its current focus is on polymer ceramic composites that cost 50 cents per kg or less and have a bulk density of 1-2 g/cc. Without fiber reinforcement, these materials can be tailored for strength, toughness, stiffness, and deformation to failure. These materials can operate above the melting temperature of the polymer component without creep, and the overall material can endure temperatures up to 600˚C.

Key Benefits

  1. Thermal-mechanical, physical, and chemical properties can be engineered for the application
  2. Do not spontaneously combust
  3. Do not creep even when the polymer is molten
  4. Conventional manufacturing processes for shape and size control
  5. Low-temperature process
  6. Abundant non-toxic raw materials
  7. Recyclable
  8. Carbon-negative materials are possible
  9. Materials suitable to replace wood, metal, ceramic, plastics, and fiber-reinforced resins
  10. Low-cost (< 0.50 $/kg)

Applications

  1. Shipping and packaging
  2. Marine
  3. Aircraft and aerospace
  4. Automobiles
  5. Sustainability
  6. Energy
  7. Electronics
  8. Optics
  9. Magnetics
  10. Insulators
  11. Dielectrics
  12. Etc.
