A guideline on material composition selection and structure design to achieve high tunability in inductors.
About
Description: Tunability of conventional inductors is achieved either by mechanically tuning through bias magnet(s) or by adjusting the electric current in solenoids/electromagnets. These devices are typically bulky, slow, noisy, and inefficient. Various efforts have been devoted towards developing voltage tunable inductors that have large tunability and low energy consumption. Here we propose a voltage tunable inductor based on magnetoelectric effect and report several voltage tunable inductors with extremely large tunability. Meanwhile, we provide a guideline on material composition selection and structure design to achieve high tunability in inductors.
