Applications
Digestive health is a huge market and Boots is at the forefront of delivering these agents to customers. Our vision of success is providing supporting data to reinforce marketing claims and improve the lives of millions of patients. We have worked already with a number of drugs like Buscopan to assess how it works and on what parts of the intestine. With fibre supplements we can look at intestinal (colonic) water to assess dosing and mechanism of cation. With anti-reflux agents we can examine distribution of eg. alienate or other substance to stop symptoms. In pre-clinical models (animals) perform dose response studies to evaluate mechanism of action for regulatory approvals.
