We have over 40 patents in the Enhanced efficiency Technologies space for fertilizers. These technologies increase fertilizer performance while reducing loss to the environment.
About
Soilgenic is a technology company focused on Climate Smart Agricultural Innovations. Soilgenic has developed the largest suite of Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer (EEF) technologies to improve fertilizer efficiency and reduce nutrient loss to the environment. With over 40 patents, our technologies provide solutions for all Nitrogen, Phosphate fertilizers for upstream manufacturing and downstream point of sale distribution. Globally 46% of Nitrogen is lost to the environment. Fertilizer GHG emissions account for 70% of all agricultural emissions with 1.25 B MT of GHG emissions. 60% of fertilizer GHG emissions are from the use of nitrogen fertilizers that produce Nitrous Oxide emissions that are 265X more potent than C02. Soilgenic has developed an enhanced below ground Nitrification technology that reduces Fertilizer Nitrous Oxide emissions by an estimated 90%, while increasing nitrogen efficiency to increase crop yields and food security. 90% of Phosphate is unused in the year of application due to soil tie up. Soilgenic's patented Phosgain Polymer technology increases phosphate fertilizer efficiency by protecting the phosphorous from tie up in the soil with strong cations such as Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron. The Phosgain technology creates a unique polymer with a specific molecular weight to allow the Phosgain to protect the dissolved phosphorus as it moves into the root zone providing an increased in Phosphorus availability. Phosgain also contains a second mode of action that works with the soil microbiome and increases the plant root development and soil phosphorous availability. Extensive R&D field research has shown an average crop yield increase of 17% with a 7-10X ROI. Soilgenic's strong development portfolio include a biodegradable polymer technology to replace plastic fertilizer coatings, a biodegradable micronutrient technology, and a new process for producing NBPT (Urease Inhibitor) to prevent the loss of ammonia to the environment. The new process significantly increased NBPT product availability and reduces the cost of the production of NBPT by an estimated 50% allowing for a more economical solution for the fertilizer industry to mass adopt the technology.
Key Benefits
The Soilgenic Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer (EEF) technologies significantly increase fertilizer efficiency, while reducing GHG emissions, and nutrient loss to the environment. The technologies stabilize the nitrogen from all three types of losses associated with Nitrogen fertilizers. Soilgenic's enhanced efficiency technologies uses active ingredients that have been well accepted by the fertilizer industry. Our technology for the active ingredient NBPT that controls all above ground nitrogen loss. Our technology for our iNprove NBPT produces the active ingredient more efficiently resulting in a 50% reduction in cost vs. the Chinese production process. This technology will be toll produced by a major global Agro Formulator for Soilgenic in a production partnership. This will put Soilgenic into a strategic advantage position over all other competitors due to the 50% lower cost and as a basic producer of the active ingredient NBPT, where other competitors purchase NBPT from China. The second major innovation is a new enhanced DCD (Dicyanamide) technology that improves the below ground protection of nitrogen. This technology will reduce nitrogen loss to the waterways and loss as GHG emissions. Our third strategic technology advantage is a patent that allows our technologies to be added upstream during the production process of Nitrogen fertilizers. This is a unique patent exclusive to Soilgenic that will result in the lowest cost addition of enhanced efficiency technologies for Nitrogen producers to allow for mass adoption by the industry. Our fourth strategic advantage is that Soilgenic has developed a suite of Enhanced efficiency fertilizers for all nitrogen fertilizers (Urea, UAN, Anhydrous Ammonia, Ammonium Sulphate etc.), as well as a phosphate technology that improves the availability of phosphate increasing the phosphate performance. Soilgenic has the widest range of patents and technologies and has entered into advanced discussions with a global Nitrogen producer to form a partnership. The group plans to use 1.5mmt (12 months plan) increasing to 4.5mmt (2026) of fertilizers with Soilgenic EEF technologies resulting in sales of approximately $270m USD. Soilgenic also has a commitment from a new West African Fertilizer group who is developing a fertilizer complex that will utilize Soilgenic's EEF Technologies on 3mmt of Nitrogen fertilizers for the African and Global Markets. This will create a $200m USD sales revenue through this agreement. By 2028 Soilgenic is projecting sales of $580M USD.
Applications
The Soilgenic EEF technologies are a vital innovation that reduces fertilizer's impact on the environment. Agriculture is responsible for 24% of global GHG emissions. Fertilizers are 70% of the emission in agriculture.
