About
DiagNodus Ltd has discovered that colorectal mucus (CM) is a uniquely informative biological material for diagnostic use and devised a perfectly non-invasive patient-friendly procedure for CM sampling. Excellent diagnostic performance of biomarker testing in CM samples by ELISA has been confirmed by our clinical studies on: a) Colorectal Cancer (CRC) detection; b) Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) diagnosis and monitoring. The company has two granted patents and is currently developing a prototype of a compact disposable device for rapid point-of-care CM testing.
Key Benefits
Our approach aims to provide a family of rapid self-applicable tests for bowel disease detection and monitoring. A simple technique of non-invasive post-defaecation sampling of colorectal mucus (CM) is now proven to be an extremely patient-friendly procedure that can replace stool sample collection (which is associated with compliance problems) in several important clinical settings (e.g. colorectal cancer screening). We already have a reliable laboratory procedure for measuring diagnostic biomarkers in CM samples and now work on developing rapid and inexpensive point-of-care tests that will not require laboratory analysis.

Colorectal cancer screening and early detection (triage of symptomatic patients) - clinically tested. Inflammatory bowel disease detection (including differentiation from irritable bowel syndrome) and monitoring (comprising treatment efficiency assessment and long-term monitoring of patients in remission) - clinically tested. Anal cancer detection - prospective. Gut microbiome assessment - prospective.
