Centralock delivers real-time centralised security and controls of remote sites. Centralock has successfully completed a 2-year OFGEM sponsored trial on ‘Live’ distribution sites.
About
NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) ‘CHECK’ approved testing was performed prior to launching the 2-year OFGEM sponsored NIA Centralock trial on ‘Live’ distribution sites. The OFGEM trial demonstrated reliable delivery of the real-time management tools throughout a wide variety of environmental conditions. Testing was also performed to ensure that the system remained operable and secure even when local or regional power was interrupted. Cost-effectiveness is assured by the ability to retro-fit Centralock to existing estates and because there is no data infra-structure requirement to deliver real-time controls at remote sites. Considerable time is saved by removing the need to call a management office to sanction entry to a site. Security benefits are derived from the use of ‘Two-part authentication’ further augmented with optional biometric or PIN security. Locking elements are available with a full range of options at a variety of LPC security ratings with ‘Lock status’ reporting in real-time. The same secure process will securely activate and de-activate alarm systems and other managed defences further reducing PIN entry vulnerabilities associated with single factor processes currently deployed. Health & Safety and security requirements rarely co-exist well together. Centralock manages to integrate and deliver the benefits of both in a single system. Alarm panels and security fences can be de-activated PRIOR to allowing operators into a site. Progress can be monitored and sites remaining unlocked for unduly long periods can be identified and follow-up procedures enacted. Centralock ensures that correct entry procedures are followed at every visit to every site. Full audit trails complete the image allowing ‘Duty of Care’ responsibilities to be demonstrated. Structured deployment allows deployment ‘Risk’ to be tightly managed and costs kept tightly under control. Reducing unnecessary journeys and improving operator efficiencies contribute significantly to the management and reduction of carbon emissions.
