ARBOREA developed the world’s first breathing bioreactor system, the “BioSolar-Leaf”, which grows any photosynthetic organisms (and there more than 50.000s known ones in nature) in the most efficient and hygienic way for the subsequent extraction of sustainable, pure and safe food ingredients. Thanks to our novel membrane-driven technology, external contamination is avoided, and the outside air is never in contact with the culture. The BioSolar-Leaf has the unique ability to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) at atmospheric pressure without the need to buy, compress or waste any CO2 (which is common within the industry), making its process carbon-neutral. Thanks to the process being capital-light and efficient, Arborea’s production can scale flexibly and modularly to meet world’s fast-growing demand for nutritionally enhanced, plant-based food and beverages.
