Biochar is a solid carbonaceous residue (with a carbon content greater than 60%) , which improve functionality of less fertile soil, adding carbon storage effects.

About

Our biochar, GREENCHAR, is a vegetal charcoal produced through virgin woody biomass gasification plants. It has excellent soil amendment properties and provides an improvement effect on poor soils, increasing the carbon content, made available for a long time.

Key Benefits

The benefits for the farmer are: supply of stable carbon, saving of irrigation water and fertilizers, increase in cationic mobility within the soil. Overall, all these benefits allow an increase in soil fertility.

Applications

The main application of biochar is in agriculture. However, we have started projects that involve the functionalisation of biochar, in order to exploit its characteristics in the field of water purification, but above all for use as a biomaterial in the biological field.
