The Antibodies recognized human and murine ABCA1. ABCA1 detection by Western, immunoprecipitation and immunohistochemistry.
About
ABCA1 Monoclonal Antibodies Advantages Antibodies recognized human and murine ABCA1 ABCA1 detection by Western, immunoprecipitation and immunohistochemistry Technology Details ATP-binding cassette subfamily A member 1 (ABCA1) plays a pivotal role in the production high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and is a member of the ATPase cassette superfamily of transporters. ABCA1 mutations are associated with impaired cholesterol efflux and reduced plasma HDL which are characteristic features of Tangier disease and familial hypoalphalipoproteinemia. Conversely, the overexpression of ABCA1 in animal models has been shown to be protective against atherosclerosis. Researchers at The University of British Columbia have developed monoclonal antibodies that are specific for the C-terminus of ABCA1. The antibodies recognize both human and murine ABCA1 without evidence of cross-reactivity to other proteins.
