                Remote areas have high electricity generation cost due to the special challenges posed by difficult access, harsh climate, low population density etc. Thus, energy is often supplied through small- or medium-scale diesel generators, which require low initial investment and are easy to scale up. As the electric demands increase, there is a strong business opportunity for the transition to micro-grids based on renewables.
