To use Global Entry lanes, every individual in one’s traveling party, regardless of age, must be a Global Entry member.

Application Process:
Applying for Global Entry as an Indian citizen involves several steps. Here’s a detailed guide to help you through the process:
1. Apply Online with CBP:
- Visit the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website.
- Complete the online application form.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee.
2. Background Check in India:
- After completing the online application, visit the Passport Seva Portal at www.passportindia.gov.in.
Steps to Apply for Background Verification for GEP
1. Prerequisites:
- GES-ID/GOES-ID: Ensure you have your GES-ID/GOES-ID from your application filed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- Registration: Register as an online user on the Passport Seva Portal (www.passportindia.gov.in) under the appropriate Passport Office jurisdiction based on your verification address in India.
2. New Online User Registration:
- Go to the Passport Seva Portal (www.passportindia.gov.in).
- Register as a new online user if you are not already registered.
- Ensure you register under the Passport Office only. Registration under CPV Delhi is not applicable for GEP.
- Enter all required details and click on the Register button.
- Activate your account through the link sent to your email or mobile.
3. Filling the GEP Application Form:
- Log in to the Passport Seva Portal using your registered User ID.
- On the home screen, click on "Apply for Background Verification for GEP".
- Click on “Click here to fill the application form online”.
- Complete the GEP application form with all necessary details.
- Submit the form.
4. Pay and Schedule Appointment:
- Pay the applicable fee for the background verification.
- Schedule an appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) for further processing.
- Attend the scheduled appointment at the PSK for the completion of the verification process.
- During the interview, your fingerprints and photograph will be taken, and other formalities will be completed. This appointment is mandatory and based on prior scheduling.
Tip: If you reside outside India, it’s advisable to complete this step during your next visit to India.
3. Schedule an Interview in the U.S.:
- Once your application is reviewed, you will receive a notification in your TTP account to schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center in the U.S.
Note: Alternatively, you can use the Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) option, which allows you to complete the interview process immediately upon entering the U.S. from an international destination without a prior appointment.
4. Interview and Eligibility Determination:
- During the interview, a CBP officer will ask questions, take your photograph, and collect your fingerprints.
- You must bring your valid documents.

- One form of identification (driver’s license, ID card etc)
- Permanent resident card (if applicable)

- Parent's passport copy (for minors)

- Photo passbook of bank account

Fee Structure:
- Global Entry Application Fee: $100 (non-refundable)
- Background Check Fee: ₹500
Note: Any changes in visa status or obtaining a new visa must be updated with CBP in person at a Global Entry enrollment center. Failure to do so may result in incorrect processing at the Global Entry kiosk.
